Annam is Brahman—Pranic Vibrations: The Secret of Supreme Bliss

Annam is Brahman—Pranic Vibrations: The Secret of Supreme Bliss

The pranas (vital life forces) are the main food for our body and mind. Every prana contains divine sound vibrations naturally. These vibrations are moving very subtly. This is the very basis of our existence.

Breath: The Profundity of Inner Consciousness The operation of inner consciousness in the mind, as also the operation of the physical body through Prana Vayu, begins with each inward breath and the sound vibrations that are hidden within it. This is the bridge that unites us with our inner being.

Exhalation: The Flow of Outer Consciousness Likewise, the sound vibrations concealed in every outward breath govern the movement of external consciousness in the mind and also, through Apana Vayu, influence the functioning of other living beings. This bipolar dynamic of the breath inseparably connects the inner and outer worlds.

The Eater and the Eaten Then the Pranas are the food in this great design, and the eater is the mind and the body. As Prana melts into mind and body, so mind and body melt back into Prana. This exchange is a constant cycle that never ends.

Luminous Transformation Thus, by the grace of our Guru, when one is constantly established in this state of “food established within food,” there is a luminous transformation. The whole physical body of the individual becomes Brahma Mayam (full of the Divine) by the divine power of Brahman called Annam, turning to indestructible particles of light. This is the highest state of spiritual satisfaction.
