Why Thirumandiram Verse 2358 reveals the truth
“Knowledge (consciousness) has no destruction, nor creation.
For knowledge, there is no foundation apart from knowledge itself.
‘Knowledge knows Knowledge,’
Thus, the ultimate ends of the Vedas are declared.
Interpretation:
Knowledge (consciousness) is neither created nor destroyed.
Energy can neither be created nor destroyed. The pure consciousness (soul) residing within us is an aspect of this cosmic energy. It has no beginning and no end.
For knowledge, there is no foundation apart from knowledge itself.
This pure consciousness is the foundation for all our physical senses and worldly knowledge. Therefore, this formless truth cannot be understood using mere physical senses.
Knowledge knows knowledge:
When you meditate and ground yourself in your formless state without any external support, even for a brief moment, consciousness becomes its foundation. True knowledge realizes itself.
Thus, the ultimate ends of the Vedas are declared:
This ultimate realization—that the soul realizes the soul—is the final, profound essence proclaimed by all the Vedas.
