Truth in wearing ‘Panchakacham.’
Sant Kabir says: “Be strong then, and enter into your own body; there you have a solid place for your feet. Think about it carefully! Don’t go off somewhere else!”
What exactly does it mean to be strong? The word “sharanam” has two meanings: foot and refuge.

Strength is the ability to absorb the five traps of five distinct organs into a single sort of prana energy, similar to how a turtle does. With such strength, like a turtle, if they enter their own body using their prana energy to seek refuge for their feet, that is, for their own prana… “Kurmam” means turtle, and one can feel Lord Vishnu’s presence there in the form of Kurma, who bestows sanctuary.
Those in positions of such power wear a symbolic garment known as ‘Panchakacham.’ ‘Kacham’ also translates to ‘tortoise.’ That is, those who can absorb the force of their five traps like a tortoise and transform it into their own prana’s energy become ‘Brahmins,’ or those who can seek shelter in Brahma, and therefore their three generations will be protected.

‘பஞ்சகச்சம்’ அணிவதில் உள்ள உண்மை.
சந்த் கபீர் கூறுகிறார், “அப்படியானால் வலிமையாக இருங்கள், உங்கள் சொந்த உடலுக்குள் நுழையுங்கள்; அங்கே உங்கள் கால்களுக்கு ஒரு உறுதியான இடம் இருக்கிறது. கவனமாக சிந்தியுங்கள்! வேறு எங்காவது செல்லாதீர்கள்!” என்று..
வலிமையாக இருப்பது என்றால்? ‘சரணம்’ என்பதற்கு கால்கள் மற்றும் அடைக்கலம் என்று இரு பொருள் உள்ளது.

ஐந்து விதமான தன்மை உடைய ஐம்பொறிகளையும் ஒரே தன்மையுடைய பிராண சக்திக்குள் ஆமைபோல் உள்ளிழுக்க வல்லவனின் ஆற்றலே வலிமை என்பதாகும். இத்தகைய வலிமையோடு ஆமை போல் அவர்கள் சொந்த உடலுக்குள், பிராண சக்தி மூலம் நுழைந்தால் அங்கு கால்களுக்கு, அதாவது அவர்களின் பிராணங்களுக்கு அடைக்கலம் தருவதற்கு..
“கூர்மம்” என்றால் ஆமை, கூர்ம அவதாரமாக அங்கு மகாவிஷ்ணு இருந்து அருள் பாலிப்பதை உணரலாம். இத்தகைய ஆற்றல் உடையவர்கள் அடையாளமாக உடுத்தும் வஸ்திரமே ‘பஞ்சகச்சம்‘ என்பதாகும்.‘கச்சம்‘ என்பதற்கு ‘ஆமை‘ என்றும் ஒரு பொருள் உள்ளது. அதாவது ஆமைபோல் தம் ஐம்பொறிகளின் சக்தியையும் உள்ளிழுத்து தம் பிராண சக்தியாக மாற்ற வல்ல இத்தகைய ஆண்மையுடையவர்களே ‘பிராமணர்கள்‘ அதாவது பிரம்மத்திடம் அடைக்கலம் புகும் திறன் பெற்றவர்கள் ஆகி, அதனால் அவர்களின் மூவேழு தலைமுறைகளும் காக்கப்படும்.
