கிருஷ்ண யஜுர் வேதத்தில், தெய்வீக உச்ச சக்தி, எனது பெயர், ‘நான்’, ஓம் என்பதன் சுருக்கம் என்று கூறுகிறது. இருப்பினும், இந்த தெய்வீக ‘நான்’ ஒவ்வொருவரின் பெயரிலும் வடிவத்திலும் தன்னைத் தானே சிறைப்பிடித்துக் கொண்டு, தூங்கும் நிலையில் தன்னை அழித்துக் கொண்டு, ஒவ்வொரு கணமும் விழித்திருக்கும் நிலையில் மீண்டும் தன்னை வெளிப்படுத்திக் கொண்டுமாய் இருக்கிறது. இதுதான் கற்பனைக்கு எட்டாத மாயையின் சக்தி!
உறங்கு வதுபோலுஞ் சாக்காடு உறங்கி
விழிப்பது போலும் பிறப்பு. திருக்குறள் 339:
“மரணம் (இந்த மாயையாகிய நான்) ஆழ்ந்த உறக்கத்தில் மூழ்குகிறது; மீண்டும் உறக்கத்திலிருந்து பிறப்பாக (இந்த மாயையாகிய நான்) விழிக்கிறது.”
