“கண்டவர் விண்டிலர், விண்டவர்கண்டிலர்”

“கண்டவர் விண்டிலர், விண்டவர்கண்டிலர்“
நான் ஒன்றுமில்லை, மேலும் ஒன்றுமில்லாதது எதற்கும் பயப்படுவதில்லை. மாறாக, எல்லாமே அந்த ஒன்றுமில்லாததற்குப்பயப்படுகின்றன, ஏனென்றால் ஏதேனும் ஒன்று அந்த ஒன்றுமில்லாததைத் தொடும்போது, அதுவும் ஒன்றுமில்லாமல் ஆகிவிடுகிறது. அது எல்லையற்ற ஆழம் கொண்ட ஒரு கிணறு போன்றது; அதில் எது விழுந்தாலும் மறைந்துவிடும். –நிசர்கதத்த மகராஜ்

முடிவில்லாததற்குத் தொடக்கமும் இல்லை. அதுவே “ஆதியும் அந்தமும் இல்லா அருட்பெருஞ்ஜோதி”—இவை மாணிக்கவாசகப் பெருமானால் இயற்றப்பட்ட திருவெம்பாவையின் முதல் வரிகள் ஆகும்.

நிசர்கதத்த மகராஜ் ஒன்றுமில்லாதது என்று குறிப்பிட்டது அருட்பெரும் ஜோதியையே. ஒளி எதைக் கண்டும் அஞ்சுவதில்லை ஆனால் இருள் ஒளியைக் கண்டு அஞ்சுகிறது. ஏனென்றால்  இருள்மயமான அஞ்ஞானம் நிறைந்த உலகப் பொருட்களில் ஏதேனும் ஒன்று ஒளியை தொட்டவுடன் அதுவும் ஒன்றும் இல்லாமல் போய்விடுகிறது. அந்த எல்லையற்ற ஆழம் கொண்ட கிணறு போன்ற ஒளியில் உலகப் பொருட்கள் எது விழுந்தாலும் அது மறைந்து விடும்.”கண்டவர் விண்டிலர், விண்டவர் கண்டிலர்” அதாவது இறை ஒளியை கண்டவர்கள் மீண்டும் வருவதில்லை, விண்டவர் என்பதற்கு பகைவன் என்று பொருள். ஒளிக்கு பகையான அஞ்ஞான இருளில் மூழ்கியவர்கள் அருட்பெருஞ்ஜோதியை காணாதவர்களே!

“Kandavarvindilar, vindavarkandilalar.”
I am nothing, and nothing fears anything. On the contrary, everything fears that nothingness, because when something touches nothingness, it too becomes nothing. It is like a well with infinite depth; whatever falls into it disappears.  –Nisargadatta Maharaj’

What has no end also has no beginning. That is Arun Perum Jothi, without beginning or end”—these are the first lines from the Thiruvempavai, composed by the Manikkavasaga Perumaan.

What Nisargadatta Maharaj referred to as ‘nothingness’ is the Arun perum Jothi only. Light fears nothing, but darkness fears the light. This is because when any of the worldly objects, steeped in the darkness of ignorance, touches the light, it too ceases to exist.  Whatever falls into that boundless, well-like light disappears. “Kandavar vindilar, vindavar kandilalar.” That is, those who have seen the divine light do not return. The term ”vindavar” refers to enemies. Those who are immersed in the darkness of ignorance, which is the enemy or opposite of light, are the ones who have not seen the Arun perum Jothi.
