This morning I went to the Veezhinathar temple at Thiruveezhimizhalai At one spot in the temple, Nandhiyam Peruman imparts Chandikeswarar wisdom. The scene is demonstrated in the video above.
Only one person can enter the passage by leaning down. If you enter this way, you will find Lord Nandhiyam seated in the center and showing the way to immortality from there, which is not visible at the entrance. It is structured such that after entering and worshiping Nandi, you need not return the way you came; instead, if you go straight, you will arrive in the outer courtyard. Even though the temple was busy, no one seemed interested in entering via this tight entryway, worshiping Lord Nandhiam, and then exiting. Seeing this structure reminded me of a Bible verse.
The Bible narrates The Narrow and Wide Gates. “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow is the road that leads to eternal life, and only a few find the way and show interest in entering it.
இன்று காலை நான் திருவீழிமிழலையில் உள்ள வீழிநாதர் கோயிலுக்குச் சென்றேன். கோயிலின் ஒரு இடத்தில், நந்தியம் பெருமான் சண்டிகேஸ்வரருக்கு ஞானத்தை வழங்குகிறார். இந்தக் காட்சி மேலே உள்ள காணொளியில் காட்டப்பட்டுள்ளது.
ஒருவர் மட்டுமே சாய்ந்து அந்த வழிப்பாதையில் நுழைய முடியும். இந்த வழியில் நுழைந்தால், நந்தியம் பெருமான் மையத்தில் அமர்ந்து, அங்கிருந்து அழியாமைக்கான வழியைக் காட்டுவதைக் காண்பீர்கள், அது நுழைவாயிலில் தெரியவில்லை. நந்தியை வணங்கிவிட்டு, நீங்கள் வந்த வழியே திரும்ப வேண்டிய அவசியமில்லை; மாறாக, நீங்கள் நேராகச் சென்றால், நீங்கள் வெளிப்புற முற்றத்தை அடைவீர்கள். கோயில் பரபரப்பாக இருந்தபோதிலும், இந்த இறுக்கமான நுழைவாயில் வழியாக உள்ளே நுழைந்து, நந்தியம் பெருமானை வணங்கி, பின்னர் வெளியேற யாரும் ஆர்வம் காட்டவில்லை. இந்த அமைப்பைப் பார்த்ததும் எனக்கு ஒரு பைபிள் வசனம் நினைவுக்கு வந்தது.
பைபிள் குறுகிய மற்றும் அகலமான வாயில்களைப் பற்றி விவரிக்கிறது. “இடுக்கமான வாசல் வழியாக நுழையுங்கள். ஏனெனில் அழிவுக்கு வழிவகுக்கும் வாசல் அகலமானது, பாதை அகலமானது, அதன் வழியாக பலர் நுழைகிறார்கள். ஆனால் நித்திய ஜீவனுக்கு வழிவகுக்கும் வாசல் சிறியது, பாதை குறுகலானது, சிலர் மட்டுமே வழியைக் கண்டுபிடித்து அதில் நுழைய ஆர்வம் காட்டுகிறார்கள்.
