“Weird and strange”

Interpretation:
According to the Thirukkural verse, “Uranguvathu polum sakkadu, urangi vizhippathu polum pirappu,” (“உறங்குவது போலும் சாக்காடு, உறங்கி விழிப்பது போலும் பிறப்பு”) sleep is like a death, and birth is like waking up from sleep. Before entering into a deathlike sleep, one can risk their breath and body with what they have to the trust of waking up. They cannot risk gold, property, or even their spouse or children. Because upon awakening, the first awareness of one’s body originates from their breath, and everything else follows!
Even if one is unaware of the knowledge and skill to properly appreciate and protect the breath and body that is applied as risk in routine, such blind faith is a common occurrence in everyone’s life; instead, after awakening, it is weird and strange to keep, admire, and protect other worthless things that cannot be put into risk of the above trust!
That means awareness involves, even in the waking state, realizing that this breath and body are always at risk in the trust of “I exist” and praising it ceaselessly!
“விந்தையிலும் விந்தை”
நம்பிக்கை என்பது உங்களிடம் தற்போது இருப்பதை பணயம் வைக்க நீங்கள் தயாராக இருப்பதைக் குறிக்கிறது- ரூமி
“உறங்குவது போலும் சாக்காடு உறங்கி
விழிப்பது போலும் பிறப்பு” என்ற திருக்குறள் வசனத்தின்படி, தூக்கம் என்பது மரணம் போன்றது, பிறப்பு என்பது தூக்கத்திலிருந்து விழிப்பது போன்றது. மரணத்தைப் போன்ற தூக்க நிலைக்குச் செல்வதற்கு முன், ஒருவர் தனது மூச்சையும் உடலையும் விழித்தெழும் நம்பிக்கையில் பணயம் வைக்கலாம்; வேறு எந்த தங்கம், சொத்து, அல்லது உடன் வரும் மனைவி அல்லது குழந்தைகளைக் கூட இத்தகைய நம்பிக்கையில் பணயம் வைக்க முடியாது. ஏனெனில் விழித்தெழுந்தவுடன், ஒருவரின் உடலைப் பற்றிய ஆரம்ப விழிப்புணர்வு அவர்களின் சுவாசத்திலிருந்து வருகிறது, மற்ற அனைத்தும் அதைத் தொடர்ந்து வருகின்றன!
பிராணனையும், சரீரத்தையும் முறையாகப் பாராட்டி பாதுகாக்கும் அறிவும் திறமையும் ஒருவருக்குத் தெரியாவிட்டாலும், இத்தகைய குருட்டு நம்பிக்கை என்பது எல்லோருடைய வாழ்க்கையிலும் ஒரு பொதுவான நிகழ்வுதான்; மாறாக, விழித்தெழுந்த பிறகு, மேற்கண்ட நம்பிக்கைக்கு பணயத்தில் வைக்க முடியாத பிற பயனற்ற விஷயங்களை வைத்திருப்பது, போற்றுவது மற்றும் பாதுகாப்பது என்பது விசித்திரத்திலும் விசித்திரமானது!
அதாவது விழிப்புணர்வு என்பது விழித்திருக்கும் நிலையிலும் கூட, இந்த சுவாசமும் உடலும் “நான் இருக்கிறேன்” என்ற நம்பிக்கைக்கு எப்போதும் பணயத்தில் இருப்பதை உணர்ந்து அதை இடைவிடாமல் துதிப்பதை உள்ளடக்குகிறது!
