“With life as short as a half-taken breath, don’t plant anything but love.” – Rumi
Interpretation: Life is as short as half of an inhaled breath, as the other half of an exhaled breath is beyond your control and is regarded as death. Therefore, anything you possess outside of your body could also be viewed as nothingness.
Therefore, if you continuously realize during the first half of your inhaled breath that you cannot own anything that will be worthless after your death, the seed of love, already planted even before the breath began, will grow on its own, and controlling the outer breath, also known as the death breath, will make the person’s life become immortal.
Since today is Makar Sankranti, let us begin by letting the seed of love sprout on its own in everyone’s heart.
