“restlessness versus satisfaction”

 “Restlessness versus satisfaction”

Ramana Maharishi says: True satisfaction can be only when you reach the source. Otherwise, restlessness exists.

Every human being experiences two types of satisfaction on a daily basis. During the waking state, the mind experiences one type of satisfaction through its senses, whereas the mind itself experiences the second type during profound sleep.

In fact, the satisfaction the mind gets during the waking state is nothing but the short-term settlement only. Once this brief period has elapsed, the mind becomes overwhelmed with restless thoughts.

Whereas the experience of contentment that the mind itself experiences in deep sleep is constant because the mind is concentrated in its source soul!

As a result, the best permanent way is to satisfy in the soul, the root of the mind, rather than relying on the mind’s short-term remedies.
