A common life is defined as one that takes place while awake. These activities, i.e., public life, are well known to others.
A personal life is defined as one that exists within the dream state of sleep. Only the dreamer can see what happens in this personal life.
Secret Life: A life in which the sleeper himself is unaware of what transpires while in a deep, profound state of sleep, devoid of both waking and dreaming lives.
So, every human being lives a public, private, and secret life alternately every day. However, beyond these three impermanent lives, no one knows that there is a permanent, deathless eternal life.
