Interpretation:
According to a Tamil saying, ”Seeing with the sight is false, hearing (the others’ words) with the ear is false, and deep investigation is truthful.”
One can conduct a deep inquiry without using their eyes or ears; if they strive to discover the truth solely through their knowledge, they will undoubtedly find the truth of truth.

Couplet Explanation: Amidst all that we have seen (described) as real (excellence), there is nothing so good as truthfulness.

விளக்கம்:
தமிழ் பழமொழியின்படி, ”கண்களால் காண்பது பொய், காதினால் (மற்றவர்களின் வார்த்தைகள்) கேட்பது பொய், தீர விசாரிப்பதே மெய்”.
ஒருவர் தனது கண்களையோ அல்லது காதுகளையோ பயன்படுத்தாமலேயே ஆழ்ந்த விசாரணையை மேற்கொள்ள முடியும்; அவர்கள் தங்கள் அறிவின் மூலம் உண்மையைக் கண்டறிய முயற்சித்தால், அவர்கள் சந்தேகத்திற்கு இடமின்றி மெய்யின் மெய்யை கண்டறிவார்கள்.

பொருள்: யாம் உண்மையாக கண்ட பொருள்களுள் வாய்மைவிடத் எத்தன்மையாலும் சிறந்தவைகளாகச் சொல்லத்தக்கவை வேறு இல்லை.
