கடவுளும் குருவும் வேறு வேறு அல்ல. புலியின் தாடையில் விழுந்த இரை தப்பாது என்பது போல, குருவின் கருணைப் பார்வையின் எல்லைக்குள் வந்தவர்கள் குருவால் காப்பாற்றப்படுவார்கள், தொலைந்து போக மாட்டார்கள்.
ஆனாலும், ஒவ்வொருவரும் தன் சொந்த முயற்சியால், கடவுள் அல்லது குரு காட்டிய பாதையில் சென்று விடுதலை பெற வேண்டும்.
கடவுளும் குருவும் முற்றிலுமாக சரணடைபவர்களுக்கு மட்டுமே விடுதலைக்கான வழியைக் காட்டுவார்கள்; அவர்கள் தாங்களாகவே ஆன்மாவை விடுதலை நிலைக்கு கொண்டு செல்ல மாட்டார்கள்.
எனவே, முழு சரணாகதிக்குப் பிறகு கடவுளும் குருவும் காட்டிய வித்தியாசமான ஒன்றை முயற்சிக்கவும்.

God and the Guru are not different. Just as the prey that has fallen into the jaws of a tiger has no escape, those who have come within the ambit of the Guru’s gracious look will be saved by the Guru and will not get lost.
Yet, each one should, by his own effort, pursue the path shown by God or Guru and gain liberation.
God and Guru will only show the way to liberation to those who surrender totally; they will not by themselves take the soul to the state of liberation.
And hence, try something different shown by God and Guru after total surrender.
