“Choose wisely before joining”

“The senses are so strong and turbulent, O son of Kunti, that they can forcibly carry away the mind even of a person endowed with discrimination who practices self-control.”

Bhagavad-Gita: 2:60.

How may the volatile senses degrade the mind of a morally upright man?

Volatile senses are a common trait that swiftly captures the minds of immoral people and exhibits its power via their human forms.

As a result of the fact that all of these individuals’ activities are evil-related, they go by the general moniker “bad men.”

“The fools of learning are devoid, unfit for us even to see.

The fools of learning devoid, their words unfit to hear

The fools, of learned devoid, to wisdom come no near.” That’s what Thirumoolar pointed out about these ‘bad men’ as learned fools in his Thirumanthiram.

Anyone who sees such evildoers should keep their distance from them. In other words, the sensible people who stand for morals should refrain from seeing this learned fool. It should be the action of moral scholars not to listen to this learned fool who speaks as if he has learned all the rules without knowing what is virtue and what is evil.

Otherwise, without knowing about the nature of the turbulent senses residing in the minds of such bad men‘, i.e., joining with them without investigating and knowing about their characteristics, and if you see them and listen to the unconceived talks…

Because the chaotic senses existing in such people’s minds have the power to strongly tug the minds of morally upright persons and drive them into wicked practices, Avvai Bratty has warned us to “choose wisely before joining” through his aathichudi and Thirumoolar through his Thirumanthiram.
