“Awareness of nothingness,”
Nirvana is that state where the sense of separateness does not exist and where the ego sinks into its source, the heart. ~Guru Ramana.
“There is no such thing as an individual; there is only the thought of individuality.” This quote is attributed to NISARGADATTA MAHARAJ in his book, I AM THAT.
That is, the teaching of the Bhagavad Gita is that every human form, referred to as an individual, is composed of the same substance, consisting of twenty-four common elements. In that sense, there are no separate individuals. Rather, only individuality, manifested through the egoistic feeling of ‘I,’ expresses itself as a separate person using the given names.
Therefore, when one fully realizes that there is no separate form for oneself and that everything is a universal form, the ego-driven sense of individuality, along with the individual and the given name, will dissolve into its source, which is pure awareness. In that state, only the “awareness of nothingness” exists; that is the state of. Nirvana’ alone remains.
A similar statement expressing this same idea, “There is no creation, no God, no you, and no me,” is found in the Hadith, in the Forty Hadith Qudsi.

“ஒன்றுமில்லாத விழிப்புணர்வு” “நிர்வாணம்” என்பது தனித்தன்மை என்ற உணர்வு இல்லாததும், அகங்காரம் அதன் மூலமான இதயத்தில் கரைந்துபோவதுமான ஒரு நிலையாகும். ~குரு ரமணா.
“தனிநபர் என்று எதுவும் இல்லை; தனித்துவம் பற்றிய சிந்தனை மட்டுமே உள்ளது.” இந்த மேற்கோள் நிசர்கதத்தா மஹாராஜரின் “நான் தான் அது” என்ற புத்தகத்தில் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது.
அதாவது தனி நபர் என்று சொல்லப்படும் ஒவ்வொரு மனித உருவும் பொதுவான இருபத்தி நான்கு கூறுகளை கொண்ட ஒரே உள்ளடக்கத்தால் ஆனவைகள் என்பது பகவத் கீதை உபதேசம். அவ்வகையில் தனித்தனி நபர்கள் என்று யாரும் இல்லை. மாறாக தனித்தன்மை மட்டுமே ‘ நான்’ என்ற அகங்கார உணர்வு மூலமாக, தனி நபராக கொடுக்கப்பட்ட கொடுக்கப்பட்ட பெயர்கள் வழியே தன்னை வெளிப்படுத்திக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது.
எனவே தனக்கென தனி உருவம் என்று எதுவும் இல்லை, எல்லாம் பொது உருவமே என்பதை ஒருவர் முழுமையாக உணரும்போது, அகங்கார உணர்வு கொண்ட தனித்தன்மை ஆனது அதன் மூலமான விழிப்புணர்வில் தனிநபர் மற்றும் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட பெயருடன் சேர்ந்து கரைந்து போய்விடும். அந்நிலையில் ஒன்றும் இல்லாத “நிர்வாணம்” என்னும் விழிப்புணர்வு மட்டுமே நிலைத்து நிற்கும்.
இதேபோன்ற இக்கருத்தை ஒத்த வாசகம் “படைப்பும் இல்லை, இறைவனும் இல்லை, நீயும் இல்லை, நானும் இல்லை” என்று ஹதீஸ், நாற்பது ஹதீஸ் குத்ஸியில் இடம்பெற்றுள்ளது.
