“If the body pershes, so does the soul.
Nor will the light of truth be reached.
“I learned the way of preserving my body.
And so doing, my soul too.”
:Thirumoolar Thirumanthiram
Interpretation:
“I learned the way of preserving my body.
And so doing, my soul too.”
The human body is made up of about 30 trillion cells, which collectively perform the essential functions of life. Cells can perform these life-saving tasks with the help of many organic molecules present in them. These organic molecules are referred to as biomolecules.
Energy is produced in the cell when food is broken down with the help of oxygen into carbon dioxide and water with the release of energy. Oxygen is taken inside the body through a process called breathing. That is, biomolecules get their energy through a process called respiration.
As a result of correctly understanding that breath is the primary nourishment ingested by every human being at all times, and if breathing it as vital energy, the energy known as Shivam is formed in the living cells, which increases as soul’ and the body grow through it.
“If the body pershes, so does the soul.
Nor will the light of truth be reached.”
That is, every human body is a collection of innumerable living cells, and there is nothing foreign to life called body. That is why Thirumoolar says that when the body decays, the soul decays along with it. For those who consider body and soul as separate, do not get the true wisdom that unites body and soul…
And that is the reason that the vital breath that is consumed also becomes powerless, and the energy (Shivamum) of the living cells also wears out little by little and ceases to exist.
